The State is represented by an obese man who devours endlessly, surrounded by politicians with donkey heads busy signing useless decrees. In the background, the tricolor justifies the scene, while a carpet of daisies symbolizing the people is trampled by power. The float denounces the greed and hypocrisy of the ruling class, yet offers a poetic glimmer: amid the ruins of gluttony, purity and simplicity can still flourish. An ironic and bitter portrayal of today’s Italy, where Carnival becomes both a mirror and redemption of reality.
