LA MANIPOLAZIONE

Social media, the protagonists of recent decades, are increasingly revealing their negative effects, especially during adolescence, influencing personal identity and self-esteem. Many become dependent on smartphones, the internet, and computers, isolating themselves from the outside world. Today, no one is ever alone with themselves, always connected and reachable, and detaching from the phone even for a few hours can cause nervousness and stress. Scientific studies have found that social networks affect the brain area involved in reward phenomena, the same area involved in various addictions. The float opens with a half-mule man, symbolizing the stubbornness of players who dream of a simple and carefree life but end up inevitably in their underwear, like the four subjects in the central phase of the performance. A gigantic Joker emerges in the final part, challenging with his invincible four aces. In the work, we find symbols of good luck, hoping that the human mind awakens and starts using the rational part of the brain. The float will be made entirely of papier-mâché, following the ancient techniques of artisans. Various movements and light effects will be implemented to enhance the bright colors of the work. It will be equipped with a state-of-the-art circuit breaker and LED bulbs. The main movements include: Mule: head and torso movement right-left, arms right-left Two jokers at the bottom: left-right movement Men in underwear: rocking movement right-left Lateral flag opening with good luck symbols Joker elevation with piston, right-left movement, and opening of additional emblems downward
